Financial Aid (FAFSA, CA DREAM ACT)

WHAT IS FINANCIAL AID AND HOW DO YOU ACCESS THIS? READ BELOW

While attending a college, university or technical school can be expensive, there are resources available to you and your family. While most programs expect you and your family to contribute some money toward your education, financial aid can provide money to assist you and the high costs of post-secondary education. Read below to get more information about financial aid:

FAFSA: (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)

This application is required to be eligible for all financial aid and should be completed during the student's senior year. There are different deadlines, but the California deadline for the 2024-2025 application is April 2nd. It should be completed online using the website for the Better FAFSA 2024-25.

California Dream Application (CADAA): Students who do not have Social Security Numbers or have a DACA number can still apply for financial aid in the State of California. They will apply through the California Dream Application: https://dream.csac.ca.gov/. Students might be eligible for monies from the state of California and the universities/colleges they apply to.

CSS Profile:
The CSS Profile is a separate financial aid application that is required for many out-of-state and private universities. You can go to CSS Profile to see which universities require the CSS Profile and what the deadlines are.

Be sure and visit the MSTMA College Center M 314 regularly to get more information. Don’t miss the deadlines or be left out!
