2025-2026 Academic School Year
The ON-TIME application window for the 2025-2026 school year will open on October 1, 2024, and close on November 15, 2024. Apply ON TIME!
If you wish to apply to MSTMA for the 2025-2026 school year, please complete an online application at Magnet Programs in eCHOICES.
Who Can Apply? Applicants must be residents of the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) at the time of application to participate in LAUSD Magnet Program. MSTMA is committed to serving a diverse student population from within the district. Proof of residency will be required to verify eligibility if accepted.
When should I apply? Parents must apply through the LAUSD e-Choices application, which opens in the Fall, once a year in advance. The application window typically runs from October to mid-November. Check the website for specific dates. A confirmation email/letter will be sent after applying, followed by a second letter in Spring informing you if your child has been accepted or placed on a waitlist.

Which students qualify for school bus transportation? Students living more than two miles from the school may be eligible for bus transportation. Check if a nearby bus stop is close before applying by contacting the transportation office at (800) LA-BUSES or visiting the Choices website.
How to Apply to MSTMA
If you wish to apply to MSTMA, please complete an online application at Magnet Programs in eCHOICES. The 2025-2026 school window opened on October 1, 2024, and will close on November 15, 2024. School Tours and In-Person Support are offered during the FALL SEMESTER to correlate with the ON TIME eChoices application window.
At MSTMA, we strive to make the application process as clear and seamless as possible for prospective students and their families. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you navigate the journey to becoming part of our vibrant learning community:
- Research and Explore: Explore MSTMA’s website to learn about our academic programs, extracurricular activities, and school culture.
- Attend an Information Session or Open House: We highly recommend attending one of our open houses or virtual information sessions. This gives you a firsthand look at what it’s like to be a part of MSTMA.
- Gather Necessary Information: Ensure you have all the necessary information, such as our school code (1775101), school name (Roosevelt SH S/T/M), name of student, etc.
- Submit Your Application: Complete and submit your application through the eChoices website before the deadline of the on-time deadline of Friday, November 15th.
- Await the Selection Results: Selection to MSTMA is determined by the Magnet Priority Point System and the Court-Ordered reduction of the Harms of Racial Isolation. Keep an eye out for the announcement of results.
- Acceptance and Enrollment: If selected, you’ll receive instructions on formally accepting your place and completing the enrollment process.
- MSTMA Orientation for New Students: Upon enrollment, new students will be invited to an orientation session to get acquainted with MSTMA’s policies, culture, and expectations.
