Principal's Message

My name is Dra. Juana “Yumi” Kawasaki, and it is my pleasure to introduce myself as the new principal of Math, Science & Technology Magnet Academy. As a product of East Los Angeles, I understand the legacy I have been entrusted with and will carry it forward with honor and deep commitment.

Many of my former students from Eastman Elementary, where I taught for twelve years, chose MSTMA because they recognized the high-quality education it provides. I look forward to continuing this important work in partnership with you and supporting the excellence that defines this community.

As an immigrant from Mexico, I deeply value the importance of creating a school environment that welcomes families like my own—families who want the very best opportunities for their children. I am committed to ensuring that all students are equipped with the skills they need to succeed in whatever path they choose. I look forward to meeting you and your children and learning more about your shared goals beyond high school.
